The board clears and the same tiles are dealt again in the same order — the
identical position, replayed from round 1. Everything played so far is lost.
For a different board and a fresh deal, use New Game instead.
LexTerra — Rules
Build words. Form walls. Capture territory.
13×13 board with Blue and Red starting bases in west edge (Blue SW, Red NW).
Click a rack tile (gold outline) then click board cells, or drag the tile onto the board. Highlight shows the drop target.
Place letters in a straight line to form/extend valid words (≥2 letters).
Hybrid Capture — end-extension: Extending an opponent’s wall along its own line costs new letters scaling with its length: 1 for a 2-letter wall, 2 for 3–6, 3 for 7–9, and so on (⌈length ÷ 3⌉, minimum 2 above length 2). Adding a single letter to the tip of a longer wall only changes its geometry — PLAY → PLAYS does not steal it.
Hybrid Capture — cross-play: Any new word you create across or alongside an opponent’s wall is captured with a single letter. Playing parallel to an existing word can form several cross-words at once and take them all in one move. This is the main engine of the game — walls, territory and score flip on a single placement.
Territory ownership treats the outer board edges as permanent walls. A region is enclosed by player walls + edges. Ownership uses majority of player border cells: the player who owns more wall cells touching a region claims it. Equal border count → Contested. Territory is dynamic and re-scored every turn (bonuses: 2× cell = 2 pts, 3× = 3 pts, +5 = 6 pts, ★ = 11 pts).
Swap Mode: turn it on, select tiles (teal), then Swap Selected. Ends your turn.
