How to play
Slide. Tap any tile in the gap's row or column. Everything between it
and the gap moves one place across. However many tiles move, it counts as
one move.
Spell. Drag across touching letters — up, down, left, right, never
diagonally, never the same tile twice.
Bank. Claim the word. The letters stay on the board, so the
same tiles spell word after word.
Efficiency applies where there is a word list to match —
Daily and Six & Wilds. The word is given, so how few slides it took you
to build it is the skill, and the bonus is most of the score.
In Free Play and Versus there is no list, so there is no efficiency
bonus — you choose the word, and length is the score. A long word is
worth several short ones.
The 6×6 board
★Wild. Stands for any letter you need,
anywhere in the word, and adds +10. Its real value is being a blank —
it spells the word you have no letter for.
Blocker. No word may pass through it — but it
slides like any other tile, so you can shove it out of your way, or into
someone else's.
Minimum word length is five on the big board.
Versus
One board, two players, taking turns on the same device. Highest score
wins — there is no list to race.
A turn is up to seven slides, then you may trace and bank one word.
Any real word counts, but each word can be banked only once — take it
and it is gone for them.
Banking earns five shaping slides before you pass — a reshuffle of
the board for whoever is next. Spend fewer and pass early if you prefer.
Careful what you build with them: they play next, so anything you set
up for yourself you are handing to them.
Two to four players, and you pick the finish line before you start
— 300, 500 or 1000. 1000 is the full game.
Turns are unlimited. The game ends when someone passes the target,
and the round is always completed so everyone gets the same number of turns.
The blocker is bolted down. It never
slides, and its row and its column cannot be slid either — the board
has a fixed spine to work around.
